  Yes. &lt;br&gt; I experience slow drawing on 64 bit Windows 7 running on a real machine. &lt;br&gt; And, Windows 7 running in a VMware machine is slower than XP running in an &lt;br&gt; identical VMware machine, both on the same physical machine. &lt;br&gt; David Liebtag

  I&#39;d like to stop using GetCharacterPlacement and use the uniscribe &lt;br&gt; equivalents. I&#39;ve read all the help in SimpleScript but see what I am &lt;br&gt; looking for. &lt;br&gt; Specifically, I want to get the x, y extents of a unicoded string AND I want &lt;br&gt; to be able to do that with and without kerning.   <title type="text">Clipping problem with DrawThemeTextEx</title>

  Hi &lt;br&gt; I am trying to use DrawThemeTextEx with DTT_COMPOSITED to draw onto a &lt;br&gt; 32-bit bitmap. It works great, except that it ignores the clipping &lt;br&gt; region (set with IntersectClipRect). If I remove the DTT_COMPOSITED the &lt;br&gt; clipping works, but of course the alpha channel gets messed up. &lt;br&gt; Any idea how to get the DTT_COMPOSITED flag and the clip rectangle work

  Mihai N., &lt;br&gt; I run XP all the time with East Asian enabled. It takes .522 seconds for &lt;br&gt; our product to display 1000 lines. &lt;br&gt; I enabled complex script. It took .6 seconds to display 1000 lines. &lt;br&gt; That&#39;s not it. &lt;br&gt; David Liebtag

  Here&#39;s the information I have: &lt;br&gt; The device manager for my 64 bit Windows 7 machine says my display adapter &lt;br&gt; is: &lt;br&gt; NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM) &lt;br&gt; The device manager for my 32 bit Windows 7 machine says my display adapter &lt;br&gt; is: &lt;br&gt; VMware SVGA II &lt;br&gt; Those are the only two machines I have.   I doubt it is a display driver problem. &lt;br&gt; The problem was reported to me by one of our customers. I believe he has &lt;br&gt; experienced it on several machines. &lt;br&gt; I was able to reproduce it on my one machine that&#39;s running Windows 7. &lt;br&gt; David Liebtag

  Martin, &lt;br&gt; As I tried to explain in my reply to Mihai N., I only used printf to prove &lt;br&gt; that the problem is not unique to my program. I am not actually concerned &lt;br&gt; about output to DOS command prompt windows. &lt;br&gt; As I also explained, I do use TextOut into a regular window. That is the &lt;br&gt; case which I care about.

  Hello David, &lt;br&gt; Ok, some more hints from me to help you: &lt;br&gt; Are you write text by printf() into a console such as stdout? &lt;br&gt; Try the text output with an alternative WriteConsole() function. &lt;br&gt; Probably you can also try an alternative with TextOut() API into a &amp;quot;regular&amp;quot; &lt;br&gt; graphical Window? &lt;br&gt; Maybe TextOut() is faster than DrawText(), but i don&#39;t know if it is so.
